Principal's Bio

Principal

My name is Vicki Wade Davis and I am a lifelong resident of the Dothan - Houston County area.  I was raised in the rural vicinity of Webb, Alabama where my family was involved in farming and the farm industry.  This is where I learned about hard work and developed my work ethic. My vocational experiences are quite diverse. Prior to becoming an educator I was employed in the business world where I was engaged in a variety of jobs. After marrying my husband David I entered college in order to fulfill my lifelong dream of becoming a special education teacher. I continued to work full time while attending Troy University for seven years to obtain a four year degree:) .  I currently hold a Master of Science Degree in Special Education and School Administration.  I have been involved in education for eighteen years where I have taught at the middle school, elementary school, and college levels.   My teaching experiences include collaborative teaching in kindergarten through 6th grades as well as special education classes at the 8th and 9th grade levels.  I taught at my Alma Mater, Troy University, for five years as an adjunct professor.  And lastly, I was an assistant administrator for four years at Highlands Elementary and Selma Street Elementary Schools before becoming a principal.  This is my seventh year as principal of Highlands Elementary School.
