Maker Space
What is Maker Space?
Makerspace Activities at Home
Makerspace is a fun way to explore reading and learning. It gives students the ability to have hands-on opportunities to further their knowledge while using their creativity. Makerspace can be completed using virtually anything! Legos, toilet paper rolls, popsicle sticks, toothpicks...ANYTHING!
This is a great example of a lego kit. The student read the story, "Big Red Barn". He used the legos to construct his very own barn without any plans or direction. As you can see, it doesn't look exactly like the barn in the story, but he did an awesome job using his creativity.
Legos
Legos are a great tool to free-style build. Students can build settings or characters using legos.
Strawbees
Strawbees are another form of building tool that allow creativity. Students can build towers, houses, etc using this tool.
Wood Block or Panels
Wood block or panels allow for students to create a structure for a setting display.
